The Oxidant Assay detects the presence of oxidants added to urine specimens submitted for DAU testing. This assay is for use on automated chemistry analyzers. The Oxidant reagent contains a reducing compound that yields a colored complex when mixed with an oxidant in urine samples. The color intensity is proportional to the concentration of oxidant present providing quantitative results. Commercial adulterants containing Chromium (VI), Nitrite, Bleach (Sodium Hypochlorite), Iodate, Iodic Acid, and Peroxide yield positive results with Axiom’s Oxidant assay at the lowest detection levels in the industry.
